"Are you saying you want an entity that can help you to break the ice? and let you and your friends feel connected to one another?"

Kind of like that!  (And thank you again for trying to help me out!) But more specifically:  An entity that helps the members of a group of people including me feel connected to and friendly towards each other.

I guess I'm saying I feel lonely, but lonely in a particular way:  that it is hard for me to feel like I'm part of a crowd.  In most settings I'm very aware of my distinctiveness, and that interferes with being "one-of-the-guys".  (In other ways I'm not lonely at all, I promise!)

Technically feeling part of crowd is called "empathic solidarity ".

Consider the example of a sporting event.  Some people in the  audience may want to just heckle or jeer the opposing team.  Most of us don't think that's very sporting :-). Cheerleaders (and the band too) help to direct the crowd so that the individual members of the audience cohere and form a unified, and positive, whole.

And when i see interviews of the actual players they confirm that somehow the energy of the crowd helps then to play better.  I suspect there is a metaphysical aspect to their statements.

Or consider ecstasy and self-transcendence.  In both there is a temporary loss of the perception of the separated self.  (Alternatively described a temporary loss of ego identity.)

And in the case of ecstatic experiences, facilitators are commonly present.  I mean, I'm sure it's fun to be a Maenad and all, but I want someone around to make sure I don't rip a King Pentheus to pieces if he wanders by. :-)
